Trademark - word, mark, symbol, name, device, or any combination of these that are used in conjunction with goods (under certain circumstances this can include color and packaging configuration) to identify the source of the goods.
Service Mark - same as trademarks, but used in conjunction with services instead of goods.
Certification Mark - used in conjunction with either goods or services to indicate regional origin, type of material, or certification of testing lab.
Collective Mark - used by an association of people on either goods or services to indicate membership.
Trade Name (not a trademark) - though commonly confused with trademarks, trade names are used to distinguish business entities and identify the business.
